The correct answer is C) Governor Faubus's calling of the Arkansas National Guard to prevent nine Afircan American students from entering Little Rock Central High School, despite the Supreme Court ruling against segregation.

After the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling, it became the law that public schools within the US must be integrated. Many opponents of civil rights felt this was extremely unjust, as they saw it as a threat to their way of life and an abuse of power by the federal government. This is why the governor of Arkansas, Governor Faubus, tried to stop integration from taking place at Little Rock Central High School. However, with encouragement from people like Jackie Robinson, Eisenhower decided to use the US National Guard to ensure these nine African American students had the chance to attend a previously all white high school.

What was the original purpose of the criminal justice system in the US
alekssr [168]
The original purpose was similar to the purpose it has today. I think the words criminal justice system speaks for itself. A criminal justice system is made for criminal justice. Criminals are people who violate a systems laws and regulations. This harms not only others but a created system of regulation itself. There has to be justice for criminals- this really benefits them in the end.
