Dividing miles by gallons used:-
= 429 / 33 = 13 miles / gallon Answer
When you solve an equation, it has an equal sign (=) and inequalities do not. When you solve an inequality the answer isn't exact (depending on the sign ie: <, >, etc...) equations usually are exact answers. other than that, I don't think there is a big difference in solving them.
