14. (n-5)*4+7
15. No, this would not be neccesary because if I were to distribute 1/2 to both 4 and 6, I know that I would get half of those numbers which would give me 2x+3. I also know that if I distribute 1/3 to both 9 and 24, I would get 1/3 of each number which would be 3 and 8.

How to infer the graphical form of a general equation

In this problem we have general equations of the form A · x² + B · y² + C · x + D · y + E = 0, which have to be modified into standard form to infer its graphical form. This procedure can be done by algebra properties:

16 · x² + 4 · y² + 96 · x - 8 · y + 84 = 0

[(4 · x)² + 2 · 12 · (4 · x)] + [(2 · y)² - 2 · 2 · (2 · y)] = - 84

[(4 · x)² + 2 · 12 · (4 · x) + 144] + [(2 · y)² - 2 · 2 · (2 · y) + 4] = 64

(4 · x + 12)² + (2 · y + 2)² = 64

4² · (x + 3)² + 2² · (y + 2)² = 64

(x + 3)² / 4 + (y + 2)² / 16 = 1 : Ellipse

x² + y² + 8 · x - 6 · y - 15 = 0

(x² + 8 · x) + (y² - 6 · y) = 15

(x² + 2 · 4 · x + 16) + (y² - 2 · 3 · y + 9) = 40

(x + 4)² + (y - 3)² = 40 : Circle

x² + 6 · x + 4 · y + 5 = 0

x² + 6 · x + 5 = - 4 · y

y = - (1 / 4) · x² - (3 / 2) · x - (5 / 4) : Parabola

Ivan's gas tank is 1/5 full. After he buys 7 gallons of gas, it is 7/10 full. How many gallons can Ivan's tank hold?
blondinia [14]

Answer: 14 gallons of gas.

Step-by-step explanation: For the fractions, find a common denominator, which would be 10. To get 1/5 to have a denominator of 10, multiply each number by 2. You would get 2/10. 7 gallons fills his tank from 2/10 to 7/10. Subtract the two fractions.

7/10 - 2/10 = 5/10.

7 gallons filled his tank half way. We are trying to find the amount to fill his tank all the way. So multiply 7 by 2.

7 x 2 = 14

14 gallons of gas will fill his tank all the way.

I hope this helps!

The pro shop at the Live Oak Country Club ordered two brands of golf balls. Par One balls cost $2.00 each and the Pro Sport ball
mario62 [17]

Answer:

If an equal number of each brand was ordered, how many dozens of each brand were ordered?

 • 50 dozens of each brand

Step-by-step explanation:

in order to determine the number of balls purchased, we must first determine the difference in price between them = $2 - $0.90 = $1.10

since the total difference in price was $660 and an equal number of balls were purchased, then the number of balls purchased = $660 / $1.10 = 600 balls

to determine the number of dozens purchased of each brand we just divide 600 by 12 = 50 dozens
