Tesfa is x years old. his father is 4 times as old as Tesfa. Her mother is 7 years younger than his father. If their three ages

add up to 101 years, how old is Tesfa?

tesfa = x

dad = 4x

mom= 4x-1

x+4x+4x-1=101

9x+1=101

9x=100

100/9= 11.1

So, let us apply it here.

$\frac{1}{5 - \sqrt{2} }$

The rationalising factor for 5 - √2 is 5 + √2.

Therefore, multiplying and dividing by 5 + √2, we have

$= \frac{1}{5 - \sqrt{2} } \times \frac{5 + \sqrt{2} }{5 + \sqrt{2} } \\ = \frac{5 + \sqrt{2} }{(5 - \sqrt{2})(5 + \sqrt{2} ) } \\ = \frac{5 + \sqrt{2} }{ {(5)}^{2} - ( \sqrt{2})^{2} } \\ = \frac{5 + \sqrt{2} }{25 - 2} \\ = \frac{5 + \sqrt{2} }{23}$
