Can someone please sovle this
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

sure. x=12

Step-by-step explanation:

firstly! we know that the two sections equal 90 degrees (because a right angle is 90 degrees). so, take both of those sections, and put them equal to 90 in an equation.

it would look like this...

(x+42) + (3x) = 90

which is the same as...

x + 42 + 3x = 90. ignore the parenthesis. they're just for clarification. then we will solve for x!

add similar things together! see x and 3x? those are similar because they have x in them. (HOWEVER! if it's something like x² and x, do not add them together!) x is the same as 1x, by the way. so 1x + 3x. ignore the Xs and add the numbers. it becomes 4x

4x + 42 = 90

move 42 to the other side by minusing it on both parts of the equation!

4x = 90 - 42

4x = 48

divide 48 by 4 so x is alone. there ya go

Find the discriminant and the number of real roots for this equation 4x^2+16x+16=0
Artyom0805 [142]

Answer:

2 real roots: x = -2 multiplicity 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

The discriminant = b^2 - 4ac

= 16^2 - 4*4*16

= 0

This means there are duplicate roots, 2 roots having the same value.

4x^2+16x+16=0

(2x + 4)(2x + 4) = 0

x = -2 , -2.

Select the correct answer. If the function 5x + y = 1 has the domain (-2, 1, 6), then what is the corresponding range? OA. {-9,
Leokris [45]

Answer:

D) {11,-4,-29}

Step-by-step explanation:

rewrite the equation as y= -5x+1 and plug in -2,1 and 6 to get y

-5*-2+1=11

-5*1+1=-4

-5*6+1=-29
