How did the objective style of this excerpt add power to the story?
enot [183]

The correct answer is B. It focuses on facts about mush without including Douglass's own opinion of it.

Explanation:

In this excerpt, Douglass provides information about the way children and adults were feed as they were all slaves. Moreover, in this text, Douglass mainly describes the food called "mush" and the way this was provided without including his opinion or feelings about this. This can be seen in ideas such as "was coarse corn-meal boiled" or "set down upon the ground". This characteristic makes the text to be objective as there is a focus on facts and the personal opinion of the author is not included. According to this, the correct answer is B.

In Shakespeare’s Hamlet, what plot events undermine Queen Gertrude’s confidence?
snow_tiger [21]

What undermines Gertrude’s confidence is the fact that she is dependent on Claudius.  If she was a confident woman then she would find out for herself whether or not the rumor was true that the King was murdered.  Hamlet also called her fickle when he said “Frailty is thy name woman.”  Even when Hamlet tells her enough to know that there is something wrong Gertrude would still stand by her new husband and that is what undermines her confidence.

What do you think about this: <br> Is the death penalty is appropriate and why?
Marianna [84]
No.
It is moral hypocrisy, saying you are going to kill someone because they have killed someone just doesn’t add up.
With the lethal injection, thirteen states including Texas (which has killed over 500 with the death penalty out of around 1700) keeps their ingredients a secret to the American public. Even the Pope, if you’re religious, says that it is ‘inadmissible’
