After the mess left by Unzaga, Alexandre O'Reilly came to the Louisiana Colony decided to end up with the rebellions, and tried to put immediately order in the colony.

He brought with him more than 2000 troops in 24 ships loaded with these men and supplies to establish the control of the Spanish monarchy. He established in the colony on August 18, 1769.

After ending the rebellion, he enacted some legislation that installed the concept of Cabildo to govern the region.
