– heteronomous phase and autonomous phase. Heteronomous phase is the first
phase and it is more common with children as they don’t take intentions into
the cause (like in autonomous phase) when determining whether the behavior is
moral or immoral and they believe that rules come from authority figures in
one's life such as parents, teachers, and God.
