Answer:

16

Step-by-step explanation:

You can use the pythagorean theorem:

a^{2}+b^{2}=c^{2}, here seeing as we know already know two sides here as all sides are congruent with squares and there has to be right angles for it to be a square we can do so by cutting the square in half for the diagonal and to get a right triangle.

And from there we just use it:

8\sqrt{2}^{2} + 8\sqrt{2}^{2} = c^{2}

\sqrt{128}^{2}  +  \sqrt{128}^{2} = c^{2}

128 + 128 = c^2

256 = c^2

\sqrt{c}^2 = \sqrt{256}

c = 16

Meaning that the diagonal is 16.

The parabola below is a graph of the equation, -y^2+x=-4. Which of the points satisfy the inequality. ( points A-F )
FrozenT [24]
Test the value (x,y) of each point in the equation-y^2 + x <= -4   BY
1) because the equation has = so every point in the equation  -y^2 + x = -4 is applied  .... this case is B ... satisfy  2) A, E is in the same area choose one to test test A(-4,2) :   -(2)^2 + (-4) <= -4  which is true the A and E is satisfy the inequality   3) no need to test fo C, D, F on the different area they are not satisfy.  but you can guess it will satisfy -y^2 + x > -4

Every day, Marco runs for 45 minutes and covers 5 miles. How long would it take him to run 2 miles?
vichka [17]
45 divided by 5 is 9, so it takes 9 minutes to cover 1 mile.
9 x 2 = 18.

How do I start or even do this?
LekaFEV [45]
In geometry, if 2 angles are congruent, then their corresponding sides are also congruent. So you can have 3x-5=2x+9 & solve for x. Then substitute that value into all the other expressions to get the measures of all 3 sides. From there, you can determine the type of triangle

The sum of two numbers is 5.036. one number has a 4 in the tenths place and 7 in the thousandths place. The other number has a 1
UNO [17]
   1.x2x
 +x.4x7
   5.036  (sorry the underline function is no longer available)

In the thousandth column we have x +7 and we wind up with a 6 in that column.
 Since 7 is already more than 6 that means the only number that will work is 9 and there will be a carry of one into the hundredths place.

  1.x29
+x.4x7
  5.036

Now let's look at the tenths column.  2 becomes 3 in the answer and there was a carry of 1 from the thousandths so the other number must be a zero
   1.x29
+ x.407
   5.036   Now I need a number that goes with 4 and puts a zero in the answer.
                That number has to be 6 and does cause a carry of one into the ones
                 place

  1.629
+x.407
  5.036

Finally (remembering there is a carry of one in the ones place)  I have two (1 + 1 carried) toward my five in the answer.  I need three more.

Here is the final example:
    1.629
  +3.407
    5.036
