2x+y=-2 5x+3y=-8 system of equations using substitution

Mathematics
1 answer:

4 0

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Tripple 2x+y=-2

6x + 3y = - 6 And 5x + 3y = -8

Subtract the second equation from the first to get

X = -14

Now that we have x, we need to determine y.

(2 x -14) + y = -2

-28 + y = -2

Hence, -28 + 2 = - 26

Now thats the difference, but because we are adding y to -28 to get -2, y has to be positive

Hence, y must be 26

X= -14, Y= 26

Write the following inequality in slope intercept form 5x-5y
IceJOKER [234]

Slope intercept form is written as y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

So first you need to put it in as y=5x-5y, and turn it into slope intercept form, which will be y=5/6x. Here are the steps:

y=5x-5y

Add 5y to both sides

y+5y=5x-5y+5y

Simplify

6y=5x

Divide both sides by 6

6y/6=5x/6

Simplify

y=5/6x

Hope this helps, now you know the answer and how to do it. HAVE A BLESSED AND WONDERFUL DAY! As well as a great rest of Black History Month! :-)
