{ y = 2x + 7
{ 3x - y = - 9

Substitute y for 2x + 7 in the 2nd equation:

3x - y = - 9
3x - ( 2x + 7 ) = - 9
3x - 2x - 7 = - 9
3x - 2x = - 9 + 7
x = - 2

Substitute - 2 for x in one of the equations:

y = 2x + 7
y = 2.( - 2 ) + 7
y = - 4 + 7
y = 3

S = { - 2 , 3 }

The y's value is given in the first equation. y=2x+7 . Now to solve, we will, plug it's value in the second equation.

3x-(2x+7)=-9\\ \\ 3x-2x-7=-9\\ \\ x=-9+7\\ x=-2\\

Now we have x's value, we will plug it's value in the first equation.(We can plug it in the second one too, but plugging it the first one will make it easier.)

x=-2\\ y=2x+7\\ y=2\cdot -2+7\\ y=-4+7\\ y=3

Maya spent 40% Of her savings to pay for a bicycle that cost 85 how much money does she have Left and her savings after buying t
Tamiku [17]
40% of her savings = 85
0.40x = 85
x = 85 / 0.40
x = 212.50.....this is her total savings

so after buying the bike for $ 85, she would have (212.50 - 85) = 127.50 <==

What is the equation of the line that passes through the point (1,0) and is perpendicular to the line x+5y=30
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

The equation of line passing through points (1 , 0) is  x - 5 y - 1 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation of line as

x + 5 y = 30

Now, equation of line in standard form is y = m x + c

where m is the slope

So,  x + 5 y = 30

Or, 5 y = - x + 30

Or, y = - \frac{1}{5} x + 6

So, Slope of this line m = - \frac{1}{5}

Again , let the slope of other line passing through point (1 , 0) is M

And Both lines are perpendicular , So , products of line = - 1

i.e m × M = - 1

Or, M = - \frac{1}{m}

Or, M = - 1 × - \frac{1}{\frac{1}{5}} =  \frac{1}{5}

So, equation of line with slope M and points (1, 0) is

y - y_1 = M × (x - x_1)

Or, y - ( 0 ) =  \frac{1}{5} × ( x - 1 )

Or, y  =  \frac{1}{5} x - \frac{1}{5} × 1

Or, y  =   \frac{1}{5} x - \frac{1}{5}

or, y + \frac{1}{5} =   \frac{1}{5} x

Or, 5×y + 1  =   x

∴ 5 y + 1 =  x

I.e  x - 5 y - 1 = 0

Hence The equation of line passing through points (1 , 0) is  x - 5 y - 1 = 0   Answer

MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) = $18.99 retailer's price = $14.99 discount = ?%
Gala2k [10]

Discount=$ 4

Discount percent :21.06%

solution given:

Marked price: $18.99

selling price: $14.99

Now

discount : Marked price - selling price

:$18.99- $14.99

:$4

Now

discount percent:\frac {discount}{marked \:price} *100\percent

=\frac {4}{18.99}*100%

=21.06%
