Answer:

After WW2 one of the main questions was what to do with remaining Jewish population. As many were killed during the war UN decided to allow them to create a country in their homeland. That is how the state of Israel was created in 1947.

Explanation:

Unluckily, the creation of this state  created a large dispute that still hasn't been solved. Namely, Muslim population of the area is not satisfied with the treatment they are receiving after this state was created.

Palestine was since then divided into two parts.
