I’m a little rusty, but here’s my best shot:
Rivers were essential for the first civilizations because they were the source of agriculture and the domestication of crops: without them groups of people would not live as close together and would not be considered a “civilization”
Examples:

Babylonian rivers: Tigris and Euphrates
Indus River valley civilization: in name
Ancient China: Huang He (yellow river) and Yangtze River

What makes a political cartoon different from other cartoons
ser-zykov [4K]

Answer:

Political cartoons can be very funny, especially if you understand the issue that they're commenting on. Their main purpose, though, is not to amuse you but to persuade you. A good political cartoon makes you think about current events, but it also tries to sway your opinion toward the cartoonist's point of view. Other cartoons are simply there to give someone a view of a different world. Normal cartoons are to get people to read and laugh.
