Let the number of weeks be x
38x + 209 = 1197
Subtract 209 on both sides
38x = 1197
Divide 38 on both sides
x = 31.5 weeks

Second time posting this. Please help!! :)
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{480+24(x-40)}{x}

The numerator of the rational expression the money he earned for 'x' hours

The rate at which William is paid for each hour in excess of 40 hours 24.

x = 50 hours = (40 + 10 ) hours

The amount paid for excess 10 hours = 24 *10 = 240

Total amount earned for the week = 480 + 240 = 720

the straight line L, has equation y=3x-4 The straight line 1, in perpendicular to L, and passes through the point (9.5) Find an
kari74 [83]

Given:

The equation of given line is

y=3x-4

A line is perpendicular to the given line and passes through the point (9,5).

To find:

The equation of the perpendicular line.

Solution:

We have,

y=3x-4

On comparing this equation with slope intercept form y=mx+b, we get

m=3

It means, the slope of the given line is 3.

The product of slopes of two perpendicular lines is -1.

m\times m_1=-1

3\times m_1=-1

m_1=-\dfrac{1}{3}

Point slope form of a line is

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

Where, m is the slope.

The slope of perpendicular line is -\dfrac{1}{3} and it passes through the point (9,5). So the equation of the line is

y-5=-\dfrac{1}{3}(x-9)

y-5=-\dfrac{1}{3}(x)-\dfrac{1}{3}(-9)

y-5=-\dfrac{1}{3}x+3

Adding 5 on both sides, we get

y-5+5=-\dfrac{1}{3}x+3+5

y=-\dfrac{1}{3}x+8

Therefore, the equation of required line is y=-\dfrac{1}{3}x+8.

The USS Enterprise was 1,123 feet in length.
faust18 [17]

Answer:

The total length is 1123 feet.

a) if the model is 30 inches long, the first thing we need to do is write inches in feets, so 1 feet is equivalent to 12 inches.

so 30 inches are 30/12 = 2.5 feets.

the scale is the ratio between the feets in the the two lengths.

1123/2.5 = 449.2

so the scale is 1:449.2

so each feet in the model is equivalent to 449.2 feets in the enterprise.

b) if the model is 2 feet long, then:

1123/2 = 561.5

the scale is 1:561.5

so each feet in the model is equivalent to 561.5 feets in the enterprise.

Can someone help me anyone please Giselle works as a carpenter and as a blacksmith.She earns \$20$20dollar sign, 20 per hour as
dalvyx [7]
Let she work for x hours as carpenter !
so earned money = 20x

and for blacksmith she must work for 30-x hours

so earned money = (30-x) ×25

so putting in eqn;

20x+25(30-x) = 690
so, x= 60/5 = 12

so she works for carpenter for 12 hrs and 30-12= 18 hrs for blacksmith !!.....answer !!
