Step-by-step explanation:

What you are dealing with is what we call special right triangles. There are two types of right triangles.

30-60-90 triangle- A special

right triangle with side length ratio as

(a)(a \sqrt{3} )(2a)

, where a is any positve number

45-45-90- a special right triangle which side length ratios are

(a)(a)(a \sqrt{2)}

where a is any positve number.

45 45 90 triangles is indicated by two congruent side measures( if the legs are congruent and it has a right angle, it is a 45-45-90.

30-60-90 triangles is indicated by a having at least two of the following angles given (30,60, and 90).

Shortcuts:

For a 45 45 triangle,

the legs are equal while the hypotenuse is the sqr root of 2 times than the legs.

Example, look at 1. The legs side length is 12 so our hypotenuse side length will be

12 \sqrt{2}

For a 30-60-90 triangle, the side that is adjacent to the 30 and 90 degree measure sqr root of 3 times more than the horizontal leg.

the slanted side or the side which is adjacent to the 30 and 60 degree angle is twice the length of the horizontal leg or the side that is adjacent to the 60 and 90 degree.

Example, look at 3. We need to find x but we are given the horizontal side so just multiply sqr root of 3 to 12.

x = 12 \sqrt{3}

1.12 \sqrt{2}

2.Both equal

2.8 \sqrt{2}

3.12 \sqrt{3}

4. a=13

4.13 \sqrt{3}

5.9 \sqrt{4}

When Elyse moved last weekend, the circular glass top for an end table broke. To replace it, she bought a circular glass top wit
Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

A = 314 inches^2

Step-by-step explanation:

We know the diameter of the glass.  We need to find the radius

d = 2r

20 = 2r

Divide each side by 2

20/2 = 2r/2

10 =r

To find the area of the glass

A = pi r^2

A = pi * 10^2

A = pi*100

A = 100 *(3.14)

   = 314 in^2

A driver has three ways to get from one city to another. There is an 80 % chance of encountering atraffic jam given he is on rou
lukranit [14]

Answer:

The probability is 0.64

Step-by-step explanation:

What we want to calculate here is conditional probability.

Let P(A )= Probability of using route A = 50% = 0.5

Let P( B )= probability of using route B = 25% = 0.25

Let P (C )= probability of using route C = 25% = 0.25

Let T be the probability that he will be in a traffic Jam

The probability that he will be in a traffic Jam if he uses route A = 80%

Mathematically this is written as P( T | A) which is read as probability of T given A

so P( T | A) = 0.8

Same way for B and C which can be written as follows;

P( T | B) = 60% = 0.6

P( T | C) = 30% = 0.3

Now, what do we want to calculate?

He is in a traffic Jam, and we want to find the probability that he used route A. This means we want to find P(A) given T which can be written mathematically as P ( A | T)

We can find this using the other parameters and especially the equation below;

P ( A | T) = P(A) • P( T| A) / {P(A) • P ( T | A) + P(B)• P(T| B) + P(C) • P(T|C)

P( A | T) = (0.5 * 0.8)/ ( 0.5)(0.8) + (0.25)(0.6) + (0.25)(3) = 0.4/(0.4 + 0.75 + 0.075) = 0.4/0.625 = 0.64
