Kyla wants to lose weight, and she decided to use a high-protein diet. After a week on the diet she has lost several pounds and
is feeling good about her choice. She is so convinced that the diet is working that she wants to stay on it for a long time. What information would you share with Kyla about her choice and the results she is seeing?
I would like to share with Kyla that high protein diets can help to lose weight and can be safe on the short term. However, it is important to consider that these diets limit the amount of carbohydrates which creates a risk of a malnutrition and also, they tend to limit dietary fiber and cut fruits and grains which can cause health concerns. Moreover, eating a high protein diet for a long time can result in higher acid loads for the kidneys and people can suffer different health conditions as a result of eating a lot of animal fat which are important things to consider when using these types of diets.
Because people think if you keep a positive mindset you will have a positive future and with this pandemic people expect you to be positive so then if you think positive and think "this is going to end" so then it maybe it will end who knows.
Health literacy is needed for successful access to care and use of services, maintenance of health and wellness and for individuals to have a more active role in their decisions and management of their health.
