Answer:

1. The force applied to the ball by the pitcher will impact your ability to hit a home run because according to Newton's laws, the force that the ball hits the bat with will have an equal and opposite reaction, meaning the ball would be bounced off with the same amount of force as the pitcher applied to the ball.

2. It would be easier to hit a home run with a lighter ball because the lighter ball would not need as much force applied to it as a heavier ball would, and according to Newton's second law, F=ma, if the mass is less then it would affect the force in a negative way.
