Use the position equation

Mathematics

A. To solve for the time it takes for the package to strike the ground, all we have to do is to plug in the given values in to the position equation:

s = −16 t^2 + v0 t + s0

Where,

s = distance of the plane from the ground = - 6000 ft (negative since the package moves from top to bottom)

t = time for it to strike the ground = unknown

v0 = 0 since the package starts from rest

s0 = 0 since we take the plane as the reference point

Substituting the given values:

- 6000 = -16 t^2 + 0 * t + 0

16 t^2 = 6000

t^2 = 375

t = 19.36 s

B. s = v * t

where v = 600 miles / hr = 0.17 miles / s

s = (0.17 miles / s) * 19.36 s

s = 3.23 miles = 17,054 ft

Determine whether the set W is a subspace of R3 with the standard operations. If not, state why.
poizon [28]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given information.

R3 is a vector space over the field R, where R is the set of real numbers.

Where;

The set W = {(0, x2, x3): x2 and x3 are real numbers} is the subspace of \Re³

To proof:

(0,0,0) ∈ W ⇒ W ≠ ∅

Suppose u and v is an element of W;

i.e.

u,v ∈ W (which implies that) ⇒ u (0,x2,x3) and v = (0,y2,y3) are  real numbers.

Then

u+v = (0,x2,x3) +(0, y2, y3)

u+v = (0,x2+y2, x2+y3) ∈ W

⇒ u+v ∈ W  ----- (1)

Now, if we take any integer to be an element of the real number \Re

i.e

∝ ∈ \Re

∝*\Re = ∝(0,x2,x3)

∝*\Re = (0,x2,x3) ∈ W

⇒ ∝*u ∈ W ------(2)

Thus from (1) and (2), W is a subspace of \Re³

PLEASE! I need the answer!
pshichka [43]

Answer:

-x^4y + x

Step-by-step explanation:

-2x^7y^2 + 2x^4y + 2x^3y

You can take out 2x^3y because there is enough of that in each part of the equation. Then you just divide the whole numbers and subtract the exponents.

-x^4y + x

PLEAAASE ANSWER TIMER IS RUNNING OUT
lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:

the correct answer is 1/2.

How i came to this answer was adding all of the number of medals together for all of the years, coming up to a total of 22. When asking about probability of any given set or amount of things, you always take the selected values and take them out of the whole amount. Years 2009 and 2012 have a whole selected value of 11 (4+7). Therefore you're "taking" 11 from 22, coming up with the fraction 11/22 seeing as that is not a answer choice the next step is to simply the fraction to 1/2.
