En cuanto al brazo del ser humano permite realizar movimientos que contribuyen al desarrollo de sus funciones, como por ejemplo, agarrar distintos elementos. En cuanto a la pelvis reducida de los cetáceos era algo que tenía sentido en especies de antaño.
