In the aftermath of the Haymarket Riot and subsequent trial and executions, public opinion was divided. For some people, the events led to a heightened anti-labor sentiment, while others (including labor organizers around the world) believed the men had been convicted unfairly and viewed them as martyrs.

Why did the federal government focus more on political change in Reconstruction than economic assistance to freemen and aid for
Kamila [148]

The widely Republican Senate brought their focus on obtaining African American voters by giving them political power and rights within the South. They felt anger and betrayal from the Southerners who seceded from the Union, and therefore did little to help them during Reconstruction. On top of  that, hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan, forced military occupation into the South more than any other type of economic assistance. At the point of the end of Reconstruction, little was accomplished to not only help rebuild the South, but also give African Americans the rights given to them by the end of the Civil War as well as throughout Reconstruction.

90 Points!!! How did geography affect urban development?
jeka94

Hello there,

Well in order for us to answer this question we need to define urban development.

  • Urban development would be a system of expansion residentially that helps create cities

So let's think of these large cities, what do they mostly have geography related? These places have...

  • a nice view
  • not a mountain range
  • not a dessert

Basically an essential place for urban development has to be a neutral setting that could allow business as well as urbanization.

Hope I helped,

Amna
