In the 1802s, Texas belonged to the Mexican government. They decided to allow Anglo Settlers to live there because they need the human labor to develop the lands that they owned there.

During that time, the presence of The Native Indians were a nuisance to the Mexican government.  So, In exchange for giving the settlers the land, they wanted the settlers to fight off the native tribes on their behalf.  This led to a lot of death among Native American  Tribes, Especially Comanches and Kiowas.
