Use the drawing tool(s) to form the correct answer on the provided number line. Will brought a 144-ounce cooler filled with wate

r to soccer practice. He used 16 ounces from the cooler to fill his water bottle. He then took out 16 plastic cups for his teammates and put the same amount of water in each cup. Find and graph the number of ounces of water, x, that Will could have put in each cup.

Answer:

Total amount of water in cooler = 144 ounce

Amount of water used to fill his bottle = 16 ounce

Amount of water filled in single plastic cup = x ounce

Total number of cups = 16

The equation for the given information is

⇒ 16 + 16 x=144

⇒16 x=144- 16

⇒ 16 x=128

⇒ x= 128÷16

⇒ x=8

Amount of water in each cup= 8

It is not mentioned that after filling 16 plastic cups is there water left in cooler.

If water is left in cooler after filling 16 plastic cups, suppose it's volume is y -ounce.

Then the equation becomes

⇒144=16 +16 x + y

⇒ 16 x + y =144-16

⇒16 x + y =128

So it is equation in two variables , so for different  amount of water left in cooler(y), there will be be different ounces of water in plastic cups(x).

DedPeter [7]
Part A:

To determine the amount of money in Euros that the team will get, we use the original amount given, the proper dimensional analysis and the conversion factor. For this item,
    (£135) x (€1 / £0.72) = €187.5

<em>ANSWER:  €187.5</em>

Part B:

Convert first the given length of the arena's stage in centimeters by using the conversion factor, 1 m = 100 cm

    (8 meters) x (100 cm/1 m) = 800 cm

Since, both sides will be occupied by 130-cm speaker,

    remaining length = 800 - 2(130 cm)
    remaining length = 540 cm

<em>ANSWER: 540 cm or 5.4 m</em>

Sin(A+B) sin(A-B) /sin^A Cos^B=1-cot^A Tan^B
telo118 [61]

In order to prove

\dfrac{\sin(x+y)\sin(x-y)}{\sin^2(x)\cos^2(x)}=1-\cot^2(x)\tan^2(y)

Let's write both sides in terms of \sin(x),\ \sin^2(x),\ \cos(x),\ \cos^2(x) only.

Let's start with the left hand side: we can use the formula for sum and subtraction of the sine to write

\sin(x+y)=\cos(y)\sin(x)+\cos(x)\sin(y)

and

\sin(x-y)=\cos(y)\sin(x)-\cos(x)\sin(y)

So, their multiplication is

\sin(x+y)\sin(x-y)=(\cos(y)\sin(x))^2-(\cos(x)\sin(y))^2\\=\cos^2(y)\sin^2(x)-\cos^2(x)\sin^2(y)

So, the left hand side simplifies to

\dfrac{\cos^2(y)\sin^2(x)-\cos^2(x)\sin^2(y)}{\sin^2(x)\cos^2(y)}

Now, on with the right hand side. We have

1-\cot^2(x)\tan^2(y)=1-\dfrac{\cos^2(x)}{\sin^2(x)}\cdot\dfrac{\sin^2(y)}{\cos^2(y)} = 1-\dfrac{\cos^2(x)\sin^2(y)}{\sin^2(x)\cos^2(y)}

Now simply make this expression one fraction:

1-\dfrac{\cos^2(x)\sin^2(y)}{\sin^2(x)\cos^2(y)}=\dfrac{\sin^2(x)\cos^2(y)-\cos^2(x)\sin^2(y)}{\sin^2(x)\cos^2(y)}

And as you can see, the two sides are equal.
