In a shuffleboard game, the puck slides on a horizontal floor before coming to complete stop. If the coefficient of kinetic fric

tion between the puck and floor is 0.5 and the initial speed of the puck is 14.8m/s what distance did the puck travel (in meters before coming to a stop? Use kinematics and forces for in your solution (i.e. not energy).

Answer:

22.33 m

Explanation:

We are given;

Coefficient of kinetic friction between the puck and floor; μ = 0.5

initial speed of the puck; u = 14.8m/s

From Newton's equation of motion, we know that;

v² = u² + 2as

But since it decelerate to rest, the acceleration will be negative.

Thus;

v² = u² - 2as

Final velocity is zero, thus;

0 = u² - 2as

Thus, a = u²/2s

Where s is the distance covered before coming to rest.

Now, we know that formula for the frictional force is;

F = μmg

F/m = μg

We also know that F/m = a

Thus, a = μg

Thus:

u²/2s = μg

s = u²/(2μg)

s = 14.8²/(2 × 0.5 × 9.81)

s = 22.33 m

1.) Ocean City Kite Company manufactures & sells kites for $6.50 each. The variable cost per kite is $3.50 with the current
Brut [27]

Answer:

$270,000

Explanation:

Contribution per kite = $6.50 - $3.50 = $3.00

Break even point = 90,000 kites

Since;

Break even point = Fixed cost / Contribution per kite.

We have:

90,000 = Fixed cost / $3.00

Fixed cost = 90,000 * $3.00 = $270,000

Therefore, Ocean City Kite Company's fixed costs is $270,000.

abruzzese [7]

Answer:

A. Is self regulating

Explanation:

The fundamental theory of the classical economy is that the market economy is self regulating. The classical economists believe that an economy is always capable of achieving real GDP, that is GDP when resources are fully employed. And that, time to time, when GDP falls below or exceed the real GDP, the market economy has self-adjustment mechanisms to bring it back to the real GDP level. Classical economists believes in self regulating democracies and capitalistic market developments.

a. positioning bases

b. segmentation bases

c. product classes

d. market positions

Answer:

In this context, these demographic variables are examples of segmentation bases

Explanation:

Segmentation bases are the dimensions that can be applied to fragment a market. A segmentation basis is described as an assortment of variables or features used to select dormant customers to analogous groups. Demographic segmentation is one of the usual recommended and commonly used varieties of market segmentation.

Segmenting based on identifiable group attributes, such as age, profession, matrimonial status and so on. Because demographic information is analytical and accurate, it is normally almost easy to reveal using various sites for market research.
