Jackson saw himself as a giant in a world of little people.

Explanation:

In this portrait, Jackson is very large. We can see him with a giant forehead, and enormous limbs. Sourrounding him are little people with petite, delicate bodies. I think the artist viewed Jackson as full of himself, and vain, and he wanted to portray this in the portrait.
