In a parallel circuit, ET = 240 V, R = 27 kΩ, and XL = 47 kΩ. What is IT?
TEA [102]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To find

total current= IT =?

in parallel resistor inductor circuit =ET =EL= ER = 240V

IT =  Square root [ (IR)² + (IL)²]

IR = ER/R

 = 240V / 27kΩ

 = 240V / 27000Ω                  ( IKΩ = 1000Ω)

  = 0.008 ampere.

IL = EL / XL

  = 240V / 47 KΩ

  =240 V / 47000Ω          ( IKΩ = 1000Ω)

  = 0.005 amperes

IT = Square root [ (0.008)² +( 0.005) ²]

 = Square root [ 8.9 ×10^-5]

 = 9.4×10^-3 ampere

Answer: Angle C has the largest measure.

The general rule of thumb is this: the largest angle is always opposite the largest side of the triangle.

We see that AB = 3.8 is the largest side, meaning that angle C is the largest angle which is opposite of AB. We don't need to actually find the value of angle C. Though optionally you can use the law of cosines to do so (and compare with the values for angles A & B to help confirm the answer).

note: a similar rule is that the smallest side is always opposite the smallest angle. The smallest angle in this case is angle B. The order of the angles from smallest to largest is B, A, C.

A quality of control inspector found that 1.3% of 1500 computers inspected were defective. How many computers were defective?
Valentin [98]
Okay to find percentages of things you have to take that original value (1500) and multuply it by the percentage. But when you multiply you put the percentage into a decimal and move it over to the right side two decimal places to the left. For example 10.0% would mean you need to multiply by 0.10 okay?

So for this problem you need to do 1500 *.013 and you get 19.5 computers.

Solve for the indicated variable. Include all of your work in your answer. Submit your solution. a= h/2 (a+b) ; for h
bixtya [17]

h = \frac{2a}{a + b}

multiply both sides by 2 to eliminate the fraction

2a = h(a + b ) ← ( divide both sides by (a + b ) )

h = \frac{2a}{a + b}
