vampirchik [111]

Answer:

the cost of the chair is 175.

Step-by-step explanation:

if the chair is x, the table will be 5x

now,

the equation formed will be,

5x+x = 1050

on solving,

6x= 1050

x= 1050÷6

x= 175

therefore, the cost of the chair will be x= 175.

and the cost of the table will be 5x= 5×175 = 875.

Use the coordinate plane to plot the points (6, 0) and (0, 5). Which statement is true? (0, 5) is located on the x-axis. (0, 5)
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

(6, 0) is located on the x-axis

Explanation:

For a point to be on the x-axis, its y-value must equal 0. (6, 0) has an x-value of 6 and a y-value of 0.

"(0, 5) is located at the origin" is not true because the origin is at (0, 0).

"(0, 5) is located on the x-axis" is not true because its y-value is 5, not 0.

"(6, 0) is located at the origin" is not true because the origin is at (0, 0).

A pilot approaching a 3000-meter runway finds that the angles of depression of the ends of the runway are 14° and 20°. How far i
Amanda [17]
Answer: The plane is 6,547 feet from the closer edge of the runway.

This is a trigonometry problem that will involve setting up 2 different triangles. One going to the closer edge of the runway and the other going to the far end of the runway.

The constant between the 2 triangles is the height of the plane. You can solve for this is both triangles and set them equal to each other.

Do that will give you the equation:

x/tan(70) = (x+3000)/tan(76) where x is the distance to the closer end of the runway.

If you solve that equation, you will get x = 6547 feet.
