Because the more people a state has, the more power it has (in relationship to all the other states). So, since it has a big population, it needs more representatives to represent how many people there are. idk if this helps :/ sorry

The iconoclast controversy happened twice during the Byzantine Empire. This impacted the growing divergence between Western and Eastern Christian traditions, but the Western Church stood firmly with the belief that icons could be used, but the Church was still unified at the time.
They were hoping that they would get freedom or at least gain some recognition and rights, which was something that they didn’t have, because a majority of them were enslaved and not treated equally.
