Answer:

Birches and The Giving Tree are a similar pieces of American literature concerning the plot of the story because in both the plot, there is a boy who likes to swing on the trees and an elderly man, seeking rest and peace in the nature.

Explanation:

Birches is a poem written by Robert Frost. The poem is written from the point of view of the speaker who sees a row of bend birches and imagine that a young child must have swung on the branches of the tree causing its branches to bend. The speaker carries with this imagination because he, too, as a young child used to swing on birches. And, now as an elderly man desires to come back to the nature when life seems stressful and confused.

The Giving Tree, on the other hand, is a children's illustrated book written by Shel Silverstein. The book illustrates a boy who enjoys playing with an apple tree and climbing on its branches. In his childhood, the young boy and the apple tree formed a great bond of friendship. But as the child grows, he takes so much from the tree without giving her anything in return. It was in his oldage, he comes back to the tree to find solace.

Therefore, we can see the similarity between these two plots.
