Application : Mr. Smiley wants to have a sale to draw people into the store when customer traffic is low . When would be the bes
Ainat [17]

Answer:

The best time for him to have it is;

4\text{ PM - 6 PM}

Explanation:

Given that Mr. Smiley wants to have a sale to draw people into the store when customer traffic is low.

The period when sales are lowest on the graph is;

4\text{ PM - 6 PM}

The best time for him to have the sales to draw people to the store is the period when traffic is at its lowest.

So, the best time for him to have it is;

4\text{ PM - 6 PM}

Find the length of DE. Round to the nearest hundredth. (Picture included)
LenKa [72]
Notice the picture
we have, the opposite side
the angle
and we want the hypotenuse

so recall your SOH CAH TOA \bf sin(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{hypotenuse}
\qquad \qquad
% cosine
cos(\theta)=\cfrac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}

\\ \quad \\\\
% tangent
tan(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{adjacent}  =

which one has all that?  low and behold, is Ms Sine,
so let's bother Ms Sine

\bf sin(\theta)=\cfrac{opposite}{hypotenuse}\implies sin(27^o)=\cfrac{18}{hypotenuse}
\\\\\\
hypotenuse=\cfrac{18}{sin(27^o)}

make sure your calculator is in Degree mode, since the angle here is in degrees, as opposed to Radian mode

What is the length of AC¯¯¯¯¯ ?<br><br><br><br><br><br> Enter your answer in the box.
klasskru [66]
In the question, the angles proves that this triangle is an isoceles triangle.

So we can set the two sides equal: x + 4 = 3x - 8

Add -x+8 to both sides of the equation: 12 = 2x

Divide both sides by 2: x = 6

We find that x=6. AC is also x, so, it is 6 too.
