I found a bed bug in my room. I told my mom and she blamed me Bc my room wasn’t clean. Yeah, I been not cleaning up. And she thi

nks that bed bugs only come at night. So, yesterday I slept in the living room. In the morning I got blamed and she said that’s why you should clean your room. Then I went in my room SCARED Bc my mom told me too, and I’m scared that it would be more. So I went back in the living room, and I felt anxious like I have to throw up. But my mom saw me and said I was being hard headed and I told her I was scared. Then she said that IT NO MORE BED BUGS IT WAS JUST ONE. Also I forgot to tell y’all that my dad look under the my mattress and it wasn’t anymore. BUT BED BUG ALSO HIDE IN OTHER PLACES TOO.
But I need advice, how do I know if there’s anymore bed bugs. Also I never gotten bed bugs before sooo what are the signs? If there is signs what do it look like???

Answer:

I don't think it was because your room wasn't clean. The main cause of bed bugs is travel, which means most likely you got one on you when you went outside or something, and you accidentally got it into your room. Bed bugs hitchhike on luggage, clothing, people, etc.

If there are blood stains or dark/rusty spots on your bed/pillow, there are definitely bed bugs. The bloodstains/spots come from you crushing the bed bugs accidentally. The place where bed bugs are (in this case, your room), may also begin to smell bad. You might also see eggs laid by the bed bugs.
