Two containers designed to hold water are side by side, both in the shape of a cylinder. Container A has a diameter of 14 feet a

nd a height of 9 feet. Container B has a diameter of 10 feet and a height of 20 feet. Container A is full of water and the water is pumped into Container B until Container A is empty. To the nearest tenth, what is the percent of Container B that is empty after the pumping is complete?

Answer:

11.8 % empty

Step-by-step explanation:

volume of cylinder : pi × r² × h

attention ! the question gives us diameter, so for radius we need to cut them in half.

Va = pi × (14/2)² × 9 = pi×49×9 = 1385.44236... ft³

Vb = pi × (10/2)² × 20 = pi×25×20 = 1570.79633... ft³

after filling B with everything in A there is still some empty volume in B

Vb empty = Vb - Va = 185.35397... ft³

so,

100% Vb = 1570.79633... ft³

1% Vb = 15.7079633... ft³

so, how often does 1% of the total volume of B fit into the remaining empty volume of B ?

185.35397... / 15.7079633... = 11.8%

How much fabric is needed to create the lateral faces of the tent?
jek_recluse [69]
Left and right side: 6.4*7=44.8
44.8+44.8=89.6
front (where the zipper is) and back: half of 5*8=20
20+20=40

40+89.6=129.6

the area of the bottom is 7*8=56

the total area is 129.6+56=185.6

I am not sure what lateral area includes. To me, the answer should be 129.6, but 129.6 is not a choice.
I'd suggest 185.6, the total surface area.

To win a trivia game, Negan must score 90 points. Each correct answer is worth 1 3 over 4 points, and each incorrect answer is w
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

 Nevan won the game.

 He scored 183 points.

Explanation:

Correct answer is worth 13/4 points

Incorrect answer is worth -1/4 points.

Number of correct answers = 58

Number of incorrect answers = 22

  Point scored =58*\frac{13}{4} +22*\frac{-1}{4} =\frac{732}{4} =183

Points need to win = 90 points

Point scored, 183 >Points need to win, 90

  So, Nevan won the game.
