Explain the steps that you would use to focus on a specimen under a compound light microscope.
Rashid [163]

To start, move the objective lens to its lowest power setting. Place a slide on the stage with the label side up and the cover slip in the middle. You can only use the coarse focus knob when the power is low. If you can't see anything, move the slide a little while you look and focus. If nothing shows up, turn down the light and move the slide a little while you're looking and focusing. Once you're in focus on low power, move the slide to make the object of interest in the middle of it. Turn the objective to medium power and only change the fine focus. If you need to, turn the objective to high power and only adjust the fine focus.

Cirrus clouds form in what layer
Leokris [45]

High clouds include cirrus, cirrocumulus, and cirrostratus clouds. These clouds are made up of either ice or water droplets, but they are usually made up of ice crystals. Water clouds tend to have sharp edges, and ice clouds are more wispy.

Why is vinegar used in food preservation?
weqwewe [10]
Vinegar is an extremely acidic liquid. Very few microorganisms (ie bacteria and fungus which cause foods to spoil) can survive in such an acidic environment. Among other effects, it can destroy their cell walls, and prevent their own enzymes working (enzymes are extremely pH sensitive). There are a small number of microorgamisms which are adapted to survive in extreme acidity. However, this adaptation prevents them from surviving in more 'normal' environments. Therefore, anything which can survive in the vinegar, will not likely survive on your kitchen surface, and the same is true the other way around. Therefore, as vitually nothing can colonise whatever is in the vinegar, the food will be very effectively preserved. . . . . . . . . . . you can say........................ . . the low pH a nd high acidity of vinegar destroy bacteria
