Why is it better to use the median instead of the mode on a dot plot?
soldier1979 [14.2K]
I the median is a number that’s always suppose to be used on a dot plot because the median always ask for all kind of numbers to be put in a dot plot and the mean has a bit less number and their odd ;)

I need help getting the answer for the 1st question
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]
If we have two similar triangles:
Triangle 1 (base 1 , height1).
Triangle 2 (base 2, height 2)
Then:

base 1 /height 1=base 2 /height 2

Data:
base 1=0.2 m
height 1= 1 m
base 2= 8 m
height 2=x

We calculate the height of the tower:
base 1 /height 1=base 2 /height 2
0.2 m / 1m=8 m / x
x=(8 m * 1 m) / 0.2 m
x=8 m²/0.2 m
x=40 m

Answer. the heigth of the tower will 40 m

Which descriptions from the list below accurately describe the relationship
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

A) Same shape

C) Similar

Step-by-step explanation:

The figure is missing: find it in attachment.

Here we want to compare the two triangles: Let's analyze each statement.

A) Same shape --> TRUE

In fact, we see that the 3 angles of the two triangles are the same: therefore, the two triangles have same shape.

B) Congruent --> FALSE

Two triangles are said to be congruent if they have same sizes and same angles: here we see that they do not have the same sizes, so they are not congruent.

C) Similar --> TRUE

Two triangles are said to be similar if the proportions between their sides are the same.

For the triangles in the figure, we see that this is valid. In fact, the ratio of the 3 sides for the triangle on the left is 10:8:6, while the ratio for the triangle on the right is 20:16:12, which can be reduced to 10:8:6: therefore, the same ratio.

D) Same size --> FALSE

As we see, the two triangles do not have the same size.

I am confused on #7, can any smart people out there that understand math help me?
xz_007 [3.2K]
You are dividing the number with the x so 4 when you divide 4 on both sides 4x cancels out because it’s 0 and 8 divides by 4 is 4 so y=4
