World War 1 began on July 28, 1914 and ended on November 11, 1918. World War 1 led to the downfall of Czar Nicholas 2 because the Russian army was very tired of fighting in the war. It was leading to worsened food shortages and this is the cause of his downfall. He forced from his post on March 15, 1917.
