PART A: Which TWO of the following best identify the central ideas of this text?
Bogdan [553]

Answer:

B) and E)

Explanation:

Basic idea that John Wilkes Booth is trying to convey through his diary is his strong belief that Lincoln is a tyrant whose assassination is the only salvation for the country.

Also, we see that he considers himself a patriot, a person willing to liberate his country at the cost of being hunted, prosecuted or killed.

So, when Booth says "Our country owed all her troubles to him..." and "And yet I, for striking down a greater tyrant..." he clearly thinks of Lincoln as of the tyrant oppressing his country.

And from " I care not what becomes of me" and " I struck for my country and that alone" we see the reason for his action and lack of concern for his life and destiny.

What do the details about the length of the Arctic day add to the story? Please respond in three to five complete sentences, inc
VARVARA [1.3K]
The details of the length of the day add a sence of timeliness and limitations. When story's exist outside of time they are just random excerpts but once it has time it can begin to have a sence of actuality. Once it is grounded in time it gives more meaning to what's going on because everything has to be kept on a schedule so everything that happens is important. Daylight came at nine o'clock. At midday the sky to the south warmed to rose-colour, and marked where the bulge of the earth intervened between the meridian sun and the northern world. But the rose-colour swiftly faded. The grey light of day that remained lasted until three o'clock. This shows how very short the day is and how very important everything that you can squeeze in is. it shows their limitation so everything that gets done is more impressive.

What is the rhyme scheme of most of the stanzas in “The Fly”?
Nitella [24]

The rhyme scheme of stanzas in "The Fly" is ABCB.

Explanation:

"The Fly" is a poem written by William Blake, English poet, painter, and printmaker. It's a part of Blake's collection Songs of Experience published in 1794.

The pattern of rhymes at the end of each line of a poem or song is referred to as its rhyming scheme. The rhyming scheme is expressed by letters, which indicate which lines rhyme. Lines that rhyme with each other are marked by the same letter.

We can use the first two stanzas of "The Fly" to determine its rhyming scheme:

Little Fly

Thy summer's play,

My thoughtless hand

Has brush'd away.

Am not I

A fly like thee?

Or art not thou

A man like me?

The bolded words are the ones that rhyme. We can see that the second and the fourth lines rhyme, while the first and the third don't. This rhyming scheme can be expressed as ABCB. The first line is marked with A, the second and the fourth with B (as they rhyme), and the third is marked with C.
