Answer:

Slopes is rise over run

Step-by-step explanation:

In mathematics, the slope or gradient of a line is a number that describes both the direction and the steepness of the line. so Rise/run, or use the equation y2-y1/x2-x1

Percent of slope is determined by dividing the amount of elevation change by the amount of horizontal distance covered (sometimes referred to as "the rise divided by the run"), and then multiplying the result by 100. The "run" assumes you're traveling on an idealized flat surface – it does not account for the actual distance traveled once elevation change is factored in.

Example: let’s assume your climb gains 1,000 feet in altitude (the rise) and the horizontal distance as measured on the map is 2,000 feet (the run).

1,000 divided by 2,000 equals 0.5

Multiply 0.5 by 100 to derive percent of slope: 50%

Example: let’s assume your climb gains 500 feet in altitude (the rise) and the horizontal distance as measured on the map is 3,000 feet (the run).

500 divided by 3,000 equals 0.166

Multiply 0.166 by 100 to derive percent of slope: 16.6%

Example: let’s assume your climb gains 700 feet in altitude (the rise) and the horizontal distance as measured on the map is 500 feet (the run).

700 divided by 500 equals 1.4

Multiply 1.4 by 100 to derive percent of slope: 140%

Angle of slope represents the angle that’s formed between the run (remember it’s an idealized flat surface that ignores elevation change) and your climb’s angular deviation from that idealized flat surface. To calculate this, you divide the rise divided by the run, and then obtain the inverse tangent of the result.

Example: let’s assume your climb gains 1,000 feet in altitude (the rise) and the horizontal distance as measured on the map is 2,000 feet (the run).

1,000 divided by 2,000 equals .5

Press the INV button on your calculator (sometimes called 2nd function)

Press the TAN button on your calculator

Your angle of slope is 26.5 degrees

Example: Let’s assume your climb gains 1,000 feet in altitude (the rise) and the horizontal distance as measured on the map is 1,000 feet (the run).

1,000 divided by 1,000 equals 1

Press the INV button on your calculator (sometimes called 2nd function)

Press the TAN button on your calculator

Your angle of slope is 45 degrees

Q.1. Base and height if a parallelogram 12 cm and 8 cm respectively. Find its area.
irakobra [83]

Answer:

Area of the parallelogram is 96 cm^{2}.

Step-by-step explanation:

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with parallel and equal length of opposite sides. The diagonals are perpendicular to each other.

Area of a parallelogram is given as,

Area = base x height

Thus for the given parallelogram with base 12 cm and height 8 cm, the area would be;

Area = base x height

        = 12 x 8

        = 96

Area = 96 cm^{2}

The area of the parallelogram is 96 cm^{2}.

The High Roller, a giant ferris wheel in Las Vagas, casts a 242-foot shadow. A 6’3” tall man standing nearby casts a 2 3/4-foot
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

550ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Simple napkin math, so you know what both shadows are you need to find how tall the High Roller is we will use X for this.

\frac{242ft}{6'3"}  x \frac{x}{2'9"}

Im not 100% I set it up right but essentially 242 divided by 2'9" and that equals 88

Take 88 and multiply that by 6'3" and you get your Height for the High Roller

What I did their was I scaled the humans height to that of the High Roller dividing it gives you a number you can use to scale the height of that human to how it should scale to the High Roller, which is why I took 88 and multiplied it by the human's height.

Hope this helped :)
