The oven tray is 600mm by 500mm. A cake tin is 25cm in diameter. How many cake tins can jenny fit on the oven tray at one time?
Hunter-Best [27]
Oven tray: 600 mm by 500 mm
cake tin: 25 cm in diameter

convert mm to cm.

1 cm = 10 mm

600mm * 1cm/10mm = 60cm
500mm * 1cm/10mm = 50cm

Area of oven tray = 60cm * 50cm  = 3,000 cm²
Area of cake tin = 3.14 * (25cm/2)² = 3.14 * (12.5cm)² = 3.14 * 156.25cm² = 490.625 cm²

3,000cm² ÷ 490.625cm² = 6.11 or 6 cake tins can fit on the oven tray at one time.

The surface area of a rectangular prism is 198 cm2. Two of the dimensions are 3 cm and 9 cm. Find the measure of the other dimen
Alecsey [184]

In this question, it is given that two of the dimensions are 3 cm and 9 cm . Let the other dimension be x cm .

And the surface area of the rectangular prism is given. Now we use the formula of surface area of prism, which is

A = 2(length* width + width * height + length * height )

198 = 2(3*9 + 3*x + 9*x)

99 = 27 + 12x

Subtracting 27 to both sides,

72 = 12x

Dividing both sides by 12

x = 6

So the length of the remaining dimension is 6 cm .
