PLEASE HELP!! There are 64 passengers on a morning bus. Of these passengers, 35 need transfers and 39 are going to work. There a
mote1985 [20]

The number of passengers that :

  • Needs Transfer only = 13 passengers
  • Are going to work only = 17 passengers

Let :

Passengers that needs transfer = T = 35

Passengers going to work, W = 39

Passengers who do not need transfers and aren't going to work = 12

Using a venn diagram :

Let the Passengers who do not need transfers and are going to work and needs transfer = x

Passengers who need transfer only = 35 - x

Passengers who are going to work only = 39 - x

To find x :

35 - x + 39 - x + x + 12 = 64

86 - x = 64

-x = 64 - 86

-x = - 22

x = 22

the number of passengers that need transfers but aren’t going to work will be = 35 - 22 = 13 passengers

the number of passengers that are going to work but do not need transfers will be : 39 - 22 = 17 passengers

A scale drawing of a rectangular room has a length of 6 inches and a width of 4 inches. The drawing uses a scale of 1 inch to 3
Strike441 [17]
Since, an inch is to 3 feet, the length would be 18 feet and the width would be 12. To get the area, multiply length and width. The product would be 216 square feet. If a square foot costs $5, 216 square foot multiplied to $5 would be $1080 which is the cost to carpet the room.
