Answer:

#7.

The domain is {-3,0,4}

the range is {-5,0,1,7}

not a function

#8

D={3,6,12,18}

R={5,7,9,10}

not a function

Step-by-step explanation:

First, 7.

the domain is the all of the x values, in numerical order, listed once, even if it repeats.

D={-3,0,4} (notice how -3 is listed twice; despite that, we only list it once)

the range is all of the y values, in numerical order, listed once, even if the numbers repeat

R={-5,0,1,7}

A function can have the range (y values) repeat, however, the domain (x values) cannot repeat.

Therefore, this is not a function, since -3 is listed twice.

For 8.

The domain, can be listed as

D={3,6,12,18}

And the range as

R={5,7,9,10}

Notice how it says that if 6 is the input (x), the output (y) can be 5 or 10. Since we said the domain CANNOT repeat, this isn't a function.

Hope this helps!

1. On a blueprint, a rectangular room 14 feet by 12 feet has a semicircular sitting area attached with a diameter of 12 feet.
timofeeve [1]
Roughly, the perimeter of the room, including the sitting area, would be 65.909 ft squared. The perimeter of the semicircle would be approximately 13.909 ft. Then, add it to the 24 (12 x 2) and 28 (14 x 2), and you get 65.909 ft squared. As for the area, it would 168 (12 x 14) + pi (3.1415...) x 6 squared (radius squared - radius is half of the diameter) divided by two (since it's a semicircle). So then, your answer would be about <span>224.54 square feet.</span>

Find value for x please and thank you
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

x = - 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

3(x - 6) + 6 = 5x - 6 ← distribute and simplify left side

3x - 18 + 6 = 5x - 6

3x - 12 = 5x - 6 ( subtract 5x from both sides )

- 2x - 12 = - 6 ( add 12 to both sides )

- 2x = 6 ( divide both sides by - 2 )

x = - 3
