nordsb [41]

Answer:

The key goal of the United States' policy of acquiring the Philippines was to

A: gain access to coaling stations and ports for US ships.

Explanation:

The U.S. administration desired to create overseas imperialism. The US didn't desire any other nations to take over command of the Philippines islands. The Filipino people were struggling to be independent and self-governing. The American rule generated great consequences of the “colonial mind” and the individualistic and materialistic approaches among many Filipinos.

Did the Founding Fathers make the right choice in basing their new
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

Yes, the founding fathers made the right decision in selecting the views of John Locke rather than Thomas Hobbes

Explanation:

Two famous English philosophers have influenced politics. John Locke and Thomas Hobbes have made contributions with their beliefs that helped to lay a structured society. Locke has been the most prominent in giving ideas on the view of human nature, individual rights which assisted in forming a constitution that still exists.

Thomas Hobbes introduced ideas based on social contract theory. In the social contract, people usually transfer their natural rights. He used the social contract method to describe that people should submit to the authority of absolute power. It seems that Hobbes ideas have not taken in the founding paper of the United States.

3. How did world events following the Allied
attashe74 [19]

During World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union were allies, and they worked together in order to defeat the nations of the Axis. However, after the war, and particularly after the Yalta Conference, it became obvious that the two nations had very different ideas of what the future world should look like. The very different approaches that each side took towards its goals made these differences obvious. It also encouraged the idea that the two countries were enemies. This enmity was expressed through the conflicting ideas of capitalism and communism.

As the rise of communism became more feared, distrust and suspicion grew within the United States. People believed that the United States needed to actively protect the world from the threat of communism. This led to the beginning of what is known as the Cold War.
