Sales Daria sells televisions. She earns a fixed amount for each television and an additional $25 if the buyer gets an extended
aliina [53]
Answer: Daria earns a fixed amount of $55 for each television.
Step-by-step explanation:
Let a represent the fixed amount that Daria earns for each television.
Daria earns a fixed amount for each television and an additional $25 if the buyer gets an extended warranty. This means that if she sells b televisions with extended warranties, the total amount that she would earn is
ab + 25b
If Daria sells 14 televisions with extended warranties,she earns $1,120. Therefore,
14a + 14 × 25 = 1120
14a + 350 = 1120
14a = 1120 - 350
14a = 770
a = 770/14
a = 55

Determine whether the point (4,2) is in the solution set of the system of inequalities below. 4x + y < 2 y > –2
sladkih [1.3K]

Answer:

False

Step-by-step explanation:

4x + y < 2

y > –2

Substitute the point into the inequalities and see if they are true

4(4) + 2 < 2

16+2 < 2

18 <2  False

2 > –2  True

Since one is false the point is not a solution

You have to remember P.E.M.D.A.S. when doing problems like this.
Drew used PEMDAS so we know he isn't wrong. However, Sam didn't use PEMDAS. She multiplied 2&5 instead of raising 5 to the second.
The correct answer for Sams' problem would be 30.
Hope this helps! :)

Please help me with this trigonometry question:
zzz [600]

Answer:

The distance from A to B is 736.2 to the nearest tenth foot

Step-by-step explanation:

In ΔCAB

∵ m∠CAD = 30° ⇒ exterior angle of Δ at vertex A

∴ m∠CAD = m∠ACB + m∠ABC

∵ m∠ABC = 20°

∴ m∠ACB = 30° - 20° = 10°

We will use the sin rule to find the distance AB

∵ \frac{sin20}{1450}=\frac{sin10}{AB}

∴ AB=\frac{1450(sin10)}{sin20}=736.1842936 ≅ 736.2 to the nearest tenth foot

Let f ( x ) = 2 x − 1 , g ( x ) = 3 x , and h ( x ) = x ^2 + 1 , what is h( h ( 5) ) ?
strojnjashka [21]
First you would solve for h(5) by plugging in 5 as your x, then solving it.

h(5) = 5^2 + 1
h(5) = 25 + 1
h(5) = 26

Next you would multiply the 26 by the individual h, which is basically h(1).

h(1) = 1^2 + 1
h(1) = 2

Lastly you multiply your h(1) value by the h(5) value to get your answer.

h(1) • h(5) = 26 • 2
h[h(5)] = 52
