Answer:

Initially, he bought 700 shares per $9,29 each, so he lost:

payment = 700*$9.29 = $6503

The commision is $18, so the total lost is:

lost = $6503 + $18 = $6521

Now, when he sells, he sell each one to $9.90, so the earned is:

earned: 700*$9.90 = $6930

Then, the profit is the difference in those two quantities:

Profit = earned - lost = $6930 - $6521 = $409

The rate of return will be equal to $409/700 = $0.58, wich means that each share returs $0.58 in the lapse of a year.

I bought 120g of candies for $1.65, how much would 70g cost, and how much could i buy for $3.80
VladimirAG [237]
70 g* ($1.65/ 120 g)= $0.96.

$3.80* (120 g/ $1.65)= 276.364 g.

70 g of candies would cost $0.96
With $3.80, we can buy 276.364 g of candies~

Dave has a board that is 29 inches long.
elena-s [515]

For this question, you have to divide 29 into 4 pieces. To do this, divide 29 by 4 which is 7.25. So, each piece will be 7.25 inches long.

Hope it helps :)

Mike and Menna were instructed to graph the function y = 12 x + 1. Their graphs are shown.
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

The function is y = 2x + 1.

And mike graphed the function correctly.

Menna took the point where the function touches x-axis incorrectly.

Instead of (-1/2,0), Menna took it as (-2,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation y = mx +c indicates a straight line whose slope is m

And y-intercept is c.

y-intercept is nothing but the distance between origin and point where the graph crosses the y-axis (0,c).

Now, this graph crosses x-axis when y = 0.

⇒ mx + c = 0;       ⇒ x = \frac{-c}{m}.

Now, by comparing y = 2x + 1 with y = mx + c.

m=2 and c=1

⇒ the graph should crosses y-axis at (0,c) = (0,1)

And touch x-axis at (\frac{-c}{m} , 0) = (\frac{-1}{2},0)

⇒ mike graphed the function correctly.

Menna took the point where the function touches x-axis incorrectly.

Instead of (-1/2,0), Menna took it as (-2,0)
