Simple multiplication:

\sf{3\times\frac{1}{6}=\frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2}}

And

\sf{1\times\frac{1}{2}=\frac{1}{2}=\frac{1}{2}}

So do you now see how they are the same? :)
