Pretend you are a scientist observing three different varieties of a single bird species that are part of the same population. I

n three to five sentences, describe what genetic variations exist in your population. Then, using reasoning skills and mock evidence from your observations, describe the impact these traits have on the birds’ relationships with their environment and predators.(4 points)

Answer:

Difference in their beak size, colour of their feather and body size.

Explanation:

The genetic variation that occurs in the three different species of bird is the difference in their beak size, colour of their feather and body size. The difference of beak size occurs due to difference in their food selection that is available to the birds. Some birds of the population feed on small food particles having small beak size whereas other have large beak size due to preference of large food materials. Some birds have colour like their surrounding that helps them to hide from their predators. Some birds specie have large body size due to availability of more food or due to genetics.

A sample of rock is found to contain 200 grams of a parent isotope.how many grams of the parent isotope will remain after one ha
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer: 100 grams of the parent isotope will remain after one half life.

Explanation:

Mass of the isotope present at initial stage = N_o=200 g

The mass of the parent isotope left after the time ,t=N

Time taken by the samle ,t = t_{\frac{1}{2}}

The half life of the sample :t_{\frac{1}{2}}

N=N_o\times e^{-\lambda t}

\lambda =\frac{0.693}{t_{\frac{1}{2}}}

\ln[N]=ln[N^o]-\frac{0.693}{t_{\frac{1}{2}}}\times t_{\frac{1}{2}}

2=\frac{[N_o]}{[N]}

[N]=\frac{N_o}{2}=\frac{200 g}{2}=100 g

100 grams of the parent isotope will remain after one half life.

Fittoniya [83]
<span>Cells responsible of making energy and performing respiration within the cell. Depending on what type of organism they are found at, they can be known as Mitochondria, if they are in animals; and if they are in plants, Chloroplasts.
Mitochondria create energy for the cell by breaking down sugars, fats, and other fuels consumed by the cell.
Chloroplasts, on the other hand, since they are found at plants, convert sunlight into energy.</span>

THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM

Answer: The attachment shows the nephron which is the functional unit of the kidney.

It does the work of urine formation through 3 distinct processes.

-Ultra filtration( Small molecules are forced out of the selectively permeable membrane of the glomerulus into the Bowman's capsule under regulated pressure.these molecules are from the blood in the glomerulus brought in by the afferent arteriole.

- Selective reabsorption ( Useful molecule and iron such as glucose and sodium are reabsorbed back into the blood as the filtrate flows through the tubule(nephron)

-Tubular Secretion. ( Movement of molecules not filtered by the glomerulus during the initial stage of filtration back into the filtrate through the renal capillaries.

Stella's urine sample shows the presence of large protein (ULTRAFILTRATION)

John's blood test report indicates a high toxin level ( ULTRAFILTRATION AND TUBULAR SECRETION)

Miguel's blood test shows an increase in metabolic waste( ULTRAFILTRATION AND TUBULAR SECRETION)

Janice's urine report shows the presence of vital materials ( SELECTIVE REABSORPTION).
