Two of Rome's legal code laws/principles that we use today are that individuals are innocent until proven guilty, and an individual charged with a crime must be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt that they are actually guilty. This must be done through a trial by providing sufficient evidence that directly ties that individual to the crime.
