Answer:

A = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

8a-4=-10a+50

8a-4+4=-10a+50+4

8a=-10a+54

8a+10a=-10a+54+10a

18a=54

54 / 18 = 3

<u>A = 3</u>

The answer would be a=3. to put it more clear, multiply the number outside of the parenthesis. so for example 4•2a is 8a, and 4•-1 is -4. since the -4 has no variable, it would just be 8a-4. next, the -10 times a positive a would be -10a. a positive times a negative is negative. next, do -10•-5 which is positive 50. remember, a negative times a negative is positive! after this, take the 8a-4=-10a+50 and add the constant and the variable (-10a) by the 8a. ALWAYS go right to left when subtracting or adding. you should get 18a. so 18a-4=50. take the negative four and add a positive four because you need to make the sides equal, add the four to 50, and you should get 18a=54. lastly, 54/18 is 3! so, A=3

Draw a line representing the "run" and a line representing the "rise" of the line. State the slope of the line in simplest form.
Igoryamba

Answer:

The answer is "\bold{\frac{9}{13}}"

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, the image file is missing, which is defined in the attached file. please find it.

\to raise= y_2-y_1

             =-1-(-10)\\\\=-1+10\\\\=9

\to run= x_2-x_1

          =9-(-4)\\\\=9+4\\\\=13

\to \text{formula for slope} =\frac{rise}{run} =\frac{9}{13}

Five less than twice what negative number squared is 157?
fenix001 [56]
Five less than twice what negative number squared is 157 <- put into an expression
-5 + 2(-x^2) = 157
Now simplify:
-5 + -2x^2 = 157
-2x^2 = 162
-2x^2 - 162 = 0
2x^2 + 162 = 0
x^2 + 81 = 0

Billy has 2.4 m of ribbon for crafts. He wants to share it evenly with 12 friends. How many centimeters of ribbon would 7 friend
Dimas [21]

Answer: 34.29cm

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, we are informed that Billy has 2.4 m of ribbon for crafts and that he wants to share it evenly with 12 friends.

The number of centimeters of ribbon that each of the 7 friends would get will be gotten by dividing 2.4m by 12. We can solve this by first converting 2.4meters to centimeters. This will be:

= 2.4meters = 2.4 × 100cm = 240 centimeters.

We then divide 240cm by 7. This will be:

= 240cm/7

= 34.29cm
