Clare and Noah play a game in which they earn the same number of points for each goal and lose the same number of points for eac

h penalty. Clare makes 6 goals and 3 penalties, ending the game with 6 points. Noah earns 8 goals and 9 penalties and ends the game with -42 points. Write equations and solve for how much goals and penalties are worth.

Answer:

goal=6

panalty= -10

Step-by-step explanation:

6g+3p=6.    <---- multipilly by -3

8g+9p= -42

-18g - 9p = -18

8g+9p=-42

= -10g = -60

goals are worth 6 points

than you would plug the 6 back in either equation

6(6)+3p= 6

36 + 3p = 6

-36.           -36

3p=-30

p=-10

so panalties are worth -10 points

F (x) = x3 + 2, g(x) = x2 – 1, h(x) = 3x Evaluate. g(h( f ((–1))) = ?
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
H(f(x))=3(x^2+2)

h(f(x))=3x^2+6

g(h(f(x)))=(3x^2+6)^3+2

g(h(f(-1)))=(3(-1)^2+6)^2+2

g(h(f(-1)))=(3+6)^2+2

g(h(f(-1)))=81+2

g(h(f(-1)))=83

The sum of three numbers is 160. The third number is 4 times the second. The first number is 10 more than the second. What are t
const2013 [10]
160 = (10 + x) + x + 4x
160 = 6x + 10
150 = 6x
150/6 = x
x = 25

second number = x = 25
third number = 4x = 100
first number = x + 10 = 35

For each sequences, find the first 4 term and the 10th term the sequences are
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

to find the first 4 terms substitute n = 1, 2, 3, 4 into the sequence rule

to find the 10th term substitute n = 10 into the rule

(a)

a₁ = 1² + 3 = 1 + 3 = 4

a₂ = 2² + 3 = 4 + 3 = 7

a₃ = 3² + 3 = 9 + 3 = 12

a₄ = 4² + 3 = 16 + 3 = 19

a₁₀ = 10² + 3 = 100 + 3 = 103

(b)

a₁ = 2(1)² = 2(1) = 2

a₂ = 2(2)² = 2(4) = 8

a₃ = 2(3)² = 2(9) = 18

a₄ = 2(4)² = 2(16) = 32

a₁₀ = 2(10)² = 2(100) = 200

Determine the side length.
White raven [17]

Answer:

3

Step-by-step explanation:

The given shape is a right angled triangle.

Here,

Hypotenuse = 2√3

Another side = √3

Let the missing side length be " x ".

By Hypotenuse theorem,

x² + ( √3 )² = ( 2√3 )²

x² + 3 = 12

x² = 12 - 3

x² = 9

x² = 3²

x = 3

Therefore, the side length is 3.
