You have a 12 oz. can (355 mL) of beer. You test the temperature and see that it reads 0◦C. Now this isn’t just any beer; this i
8_murik_8 [283]

Answer:

3.5 × 10³ J

Explanation:

The heat required to raise the temperature of the beer can be calculated using the following expression.

Q = c × m × ΔT

where,

Q: heat

c: specific heat capacity

m: mass

ΔT: change in the temperature

The volume of the beer is 35 mL and its density 1.2 g/mL. The mass of the beer is:

mass = volume × density

35 mL × (1.2 g/mL) = 42 g

Q = c × m × ΔT

Q = (4.186 J/g.°C) × 42 g × (20]°C - 0°C) = 3.5 × 10³ J
