Answer:

Cryogenian Period, second of three periods of the Neoproterozoic Era of geologic time, extending from approximately 720 million to approximately 635 million years ago. The Cryogenian Period followed the Tonian Period (which lasted from 1 billion to about 720 million years ago) and was succeeded by the Ediacaran Period (approximately 635 million to approximately 541 million years ago). The beginning of the Cryogenian Period was defined arbitrarily: that is, it corresponded to the onset of the first glacial episode to follow the date of 750 million years ago.

At a location, rainwater runs off the face of a cliff that is 15 meters high. How is the face of the cliff most likely to change
natka813 [3]

The answer is; Physical weathering by water would carve out the face of the cliff.

The bottom of the cliff would register the greatest weathering because of the force of the water hitting the rocks in the fall. As a cave is curved from the base of the cliff, the overhanging part of the cliff eventually collapses hence retracting the cliff a small distance upstream of the river. The diagram below demonstrates this;

Why is the modeling of ozone layer depletion more accepted than modeling for global warming?
tekilochka [14]

Ozone layer depletion is not a major cause of climate change. Global warming will be more significant contributor of climate change on earth.

What is ozone layer depletion and global warming?

Ozone layer depletion is the thinning of the ozone layer present in the upper atmosphere. This happens when ozone molecules interact with atmospheric chlorine and bromine atoms and break down. One chlorine molecule is capable of destroying one ozone molecule. It is not produced as quickly as it is destroyed.

The phenomenon of rising average air temperatures close to the surface of the Earth over the previous one to two centuries is known as global warming. This change has disturbed the climatic pattern of the earth. The burning of fossil fuels, logging of forests, and raising of livestock all have a rising impact on the climate and temperature of the planet. This increases the greenhouse effect and causes global warming by adding a significant amount of greenhouse gases to those that are already present in the atmosphere.

Ozone layer depletion is more acceptable than global warming because global warming is more responsible for the climate change in the earth, it traps huge amount of gases which rise the earth's temperature. Climate change may not primarily be caused by the ozone hole. Although a larger ozone hole does not contribute to global warming, the presence of ozone, a greenhouse gas, has a warming impact. The ozone hole itself has a minor cooling effect (about 2 % of the warming effect of greenhouses gases) because ozone in the stratosphere absorbs heat radiated to space by gases in a lower layer of Earth’s atmosphere. A small amount of heat can escape from that area into space as a result of the loss of ozone.

A pea plant that is heterozygous for the flower color gene makes gametes. What is the probability that a specific gamete contain
Advocard [28]

Answer:

1/2

Explanation:

Assuming the gene is represented by the allele G (dominant), the alternate form (recessive) of the allele will be g.

A heterozygous pea plant will have the genotype Gg. During gamete formation, Gg will split into G and g gametes.

The probaility that a gamete will contain the recessive allele for flower color is 1/2.
