Answer:

y = 27/6

Step-by-step explanation:

3/2x - 6 = -9/2x + 21

12/2x = 27

6x = 27

Since both are y, you know the values are equal to each other.
3/2x - 6 = -9/2x + 21
3/2x = -9/2x + 27
Get rid of fraction (multiply by 2)
3x = -9x + 54
12x = 54, x = 4.5
Plug 4.5 into any equation as x
y = 3/2(4.5) - 6
y = 6.75 - 6 = 0.75

Solution: y = 0.75 or 3/4

A right rectangular prism has edges of 2 1/4 in, 1 1/2 in and 1 1/2 in. How many cubes with lengths of 1/4 in would be needed to
Zielflug [23.3K]

The volume of a rectangular prism is (length) x (width) x (height).

The volume of the big one is  (2.25) x (1.5) x (1.5) = 5.0625 cubic inches.

The volume of the little one is (0.25)x(0.25)x(0.25)= 0.015625 cubic inch

The number of little ones needed to fill the big one is

             (Volume of the big one) divided by (volume of the little one) .

       5.0625 / 0.015625  =  324 tiny cubies

=================================================

Doing it with fractions instead of decimals:

The volume of a rectangular prism is (length) x (width) x (height).
Dimensions of the big one are:

   2-1/4  =  9/4
   1-1/2  =  3/2
   1-1/2  =  3/2

   Volume = (9/4) x (3/2) x (3/2) =

                 (9 x 3 x 3) / (4 x 2 x 2)  =

                           81 / 16  cubic inches.

          As a mixed number:    81/16  =  5-1/16 cubic inches

Volume of the tiny cubie = (1/4) x (1/4) x (1/4) =  1/64 cubic inch.

The number of little ones needed to fill the big one is

             (Volume of the big one) divided by (volume of the little one) .

                 (81/16) divided by (1/64)  =

                     (81/16) times (64/1)  =

                             5,184/16  =  324 tiny cubies.

Just so u know the answers are in parentheses
1. which is the only one that can be reached by multiplying one by 3 and getting the other. (C)
2.first you would multiply each by 7 to get that out of the way. then you will want to multiply 25 by .6 and add that to the product of 7 and 25 to get your distance. (C)
3. on this one you are half right, but instead of d. if you do your math you will see that 13/25 is .53 and 13/20 is .65 just like you need so it will be (B,C)
4. well first you want to add all of the numbers together and after u do that u will get 140. then after that you will put it into a fraction and get 35/140 which you can divide both by 35 to get 1/4 which gives you your answer (A)
5. no sir that is the tip you are going to pay the way to find what the final bill is would be that first you will multiply 34.5 by .15 to get how much you are adding to the original bill. so it will look like 34.5*.15=5.175 but since you can only have 2 decimal points in money you will round that up to 5.18. now you will add that to 34.5 to get your answer. it will look like this, 34.5+5.18=39.68. So your answer would be C.
